Extreme Networks, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based networking solutions, announces that it has been selected as the Official Technology Innovation Partner of Minor League Baseball (MiLB), the governing body below major league baseball in the United States. In this role, Extreme oversees the testing of new stadiums and in-game technologies at MiLB’s stadiums. In addition, Extreme has been named an official provider of Wi-Fi, Analytics and WAN Edge solutions thanks to a five-year partnership. As part of the agreement, MiLB will use ExtremeCloud™ SD-WAN to provide secure connectivity for sharing critical information between teams and regional training facilities.

With ExtremeCloud SD-WAN, all of MiLB’s 120 teams can easily and securely share data, including player performance data, match analysis videos and other confidential information. Extreme helps network administrators reduce operational complexity by optimizing thousands of applications and dynamically routing traffic to ensure high quality for critical applications such as voice and video.

Extreme provides MiLB stadiums with powerful Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, enabling the testing of new in-game technologies that improve fan experiences and streamline game operations.

Powerful Wi-Fi and detailed analytics

MiLB also offers ExtremeAnalytics for its stadiums and clubs. The solution provides visibility into network performance, fan-side usage and stadium operations, improving the experience of fans and staff. With ExtremeAnalytics, MiLB can evaluate network performance more accurately and test new technologies better. This includes tracking the performance of new apps, evaluating the acceptance of new technologies based on fan usage, and tracking mobile data usage during games.

Extreme Networks is also the official Wi-Fi solutions provider for Major League Baseball (MLB), which includes the two North American professional baseball leagues. Extreme power in MLB baseball stadiums with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi analytics, providing Wi-Fi in the bullpens (warm-up rooms), dugouts (men’s bench areas) and press boxes in all 30 MLB stadiums.
