Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season for Manchester United on matchday two of the Europa League after a long wait.
The record champion of England defeated Moldova’s league champion Sheriff Tiraspol 2-0 (2-0) and the Portuguese converted a penalty kick.
In Tiraspol, team manager Erik ten Hag’s team recovered easily from Real Sociedad’s 1-0 defeat in Group E. Ronaldo, who was mostly only used as a wildcard in the league, was once again in the opening set.
